Item Code: 1017Lustre FX® Heavy Metal™ iron metal powder is a fine grade ferrous metal with a rich silvery grey, blackish hue. Designed to be mixed into one of Lustre FX™ proprietary metal binders: Phat FX™ to form an iron metal coating for interior or exterior creative use. Heavy Metal™ is the go to metal if rust patina is the desired end result.
Special Features
Can be used interior or exterior. For deep brown/burgundy patina green try our Rusty Chocolate™. For orange hues try our Rusty Ranga™. For red/brown tones try our Rusty Nail™. Rusty Sunset™ evokes deep mustard tones. Flemish Fog™ can be used over the top to dull down the colour effect.
Application
Suitable Surfaces
Plasterboard, MDF, Villaboard etc. If coating on to aluminium or iron an etch primer is necessary. (e.g. Handrailing, doorhandle)

Mixing ratio: 3 parts metal: 1 part Phat FX binder

Application
Primer not necessary unless coating an aluminium or an iron surface
Number of coats: 2
Method: Trowel, roller, or any of our decorative tools such as sponges or texture pads
Allow 24hrs before beginning the sanding process (refer to PDS for full guide on sanding)
